FirstNet Board Reviews Key Milestones Along Program Roadmap Toward Final RFP for the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN)

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) Board met this week to ensure the continued success of its Strategic Program Roadmap (Roadmap) and the deployment of a nationwide public safety broadband network (NPSBN). The Federal Communications Commission and Department of Homeland Security have issued a joint bulletin on cellular, GPS, Wi-Fi and other signal jammers. Signal jammers are illegal and can interfere with operational channels commonly used by first responders, disrupting vital communications or affecting emergency operations.
