Yuki Miyamoto, federal program officer with the Office of Public Safety Communications in the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and a panel of state and local experts discussed the experiences of 9-1-1 Grant Program grantees and best practices for using grant funding to advance Next Generation 9-1-1. The panel discussed how federal grant funding can be used to upgrade call handling equipment, enhance GIS and Next Generation data-readiness, and ensure technology investment sustainability.

Panelists were Kelli Merriweather, Executive Director, Texas Commission on State Emergency Communications; Greg Ballentine, Denco 911 District; and Scott Adams, Bexar Metro 911 District
