APCO Seeks Comments on Three Candidate National Standards

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Program, Key Performance Indicators and Best Practices for the Use of Social Media

Alexandria, Va. – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International released  three Candidate American National Standards (ANS) for comments: The Public Safety Telecommunicator Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) Program (APCO Candidate ANS 1.119.1-20XX),  Key Performance Indicators for Public Safety Communications Personnel (APCO Candidate ANS 1.118.1-20XX) and Best Practices for the Use of Social Media in Public Safety Communications (APCO Candidate ANS 1.112.2-20XX).

“APCO is a premier public safety communications standards-setting body,” said Tracey Hilburn, President of APCO International.  “The public review and comment phase ensures compliance with the American National Standards Institute and provides individuals the opportunity for their position to be considered.”

The public may review and comment for these candidate standards is from July 31, 2020, through September 14, 2020.  All three standards can be found and commented on at APCO Standards for Public Review and Comment.
