APCO Seeks Comments on Two Draft Standards

APCO International December 12, 2019 APCO
Common Status Codes for Data Exchange and Revised Candidate Standard for ECC Service Capability Rating Scale

Alexandria, Va. – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is reaffirming and seeking comments on a candidate American National Standard (ANS) that enables disparate emergency communications centers (ECCs) and other authorized agencies to share status codes. APCO is also revising and seeking comments on a candidate ANS revision that enables ECCs to identify their current level of service capability.

“APCO is a premier public safety communications standards-setting body,” said Tracey Hilburn, President of APCO International. “Reaffirming and revising existing standards ensures compliance with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and ensures that standards are up to date and accurate.”

Both standards are open for public review and comment from December 6, 2019, through January 20, 2020.
