Zetron’s New Dispatch Portal Will Link 47 Comm Centers across Japan

Zetron’s new MAX Dispatch Portal is being deployed at 47 communication centers for a company in Japan. The project demonstrates how the Portal can be used to support and unify the large-scale deployment of multiple MAX Dispatch systems for a single, geographically diverse organization.

Redmond, WA, U.S.A., February 25, 2014 – Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical communications solutions worldwide, announced that its new MAX Dispatch Portal software will soon connect to and allow resource sharing among Zetron MAX Dispatch systems currently being deployed at 47 communications centers for a company in Japan.

Previously, this type of communication between sites required connections by each individual resource. The Portal is a significant improvement because it enables complete communication between sites running separate MAX Dispatch systems. It allows geographically diverse communication centers to seamlessly access and share radio resources such as radio channels and I/O controls. Because it does so without requiring multicast traffic to be passed across a wide area network, it helps reduce bandwidth requirements. In addition, the software can be configured so dispatchers at one site can view, access and use the channels and other resources at another site at all times or only as needed. This allows separate sites to provide flexible and robust backup for each other.

The MAX Dispatch Portal offers the following key benefits:
• Supports the deployment of large-scale, geographically diverse dispatch systems, allowing remote consoles or separate systems to access and share resources.
• Eliminates the need for multicast support between locations; reduces bandwidth requirements.
• Offers great flexibility in system design/architecture.
• Can be configured to allow access and sharing on either an ongoing or as-needed basis.
