Harrison County Sheriff’s Office Continues Migration to the Public Safety Cloud with InterAct and AT&T

Company Representative March 25, 2013 Product & Service Announcements

Winston-Salem, NC– Harrison County Sheriff’s Office in Gulfport, MS, has completed the modernization of their public safety system by deploying InterAct’s Records Management System (RMS) and Jail Management System (JMS) with the support of AT&T.  This follows closely on the successful November 2012 deployment of InterAct’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Mobile applications with connection to the InterAct InterDEx™ national data sharing network.

“Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has a completely modern public safety system now. We started this project with the goal of implementing leading-edge, interoperable technology and we’ve achieved that with InterAct and AT&T,” said Captain Walter Pitts.  “We were excited to join the InterDEx data sharing network because it extends our reach beyond our agency to hundreds of others.  Now that we’ve got InterAct RMS and JMS we’re also contributing data that the other connected agencies can use during their investigations.  It’s a win-win situation.”

InterAct RMS enables Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies to log in and securely complete arrest reports while in the field.  This minimizes the time spent in the office filing paper reports and allows the Deputies to spend more time in the field.  Once submitted and approved the reports are immediately available to other Harrison County personnel including administrative support, investigators, and corrections.

Harrison County Corrections’ personnel are also able to log into the new records system to retrieve details on detainees and download the data to InterAct JMS, automating the booking process.  InterAct JMS is an automated offender and facility management tool that allows corrections personnel to quickly and efficiently complete common tasks like tracking offenders and completing daily reports.

“We are excited to partner with Harrison County Sheriff’s Office to complete the final phase of their ambitious technology modernization project.  Forward thinking agencies like Harrison County realize that the era of expensive and highly customized public safety systems is over in an era of lean budgets,” said InterAct CEO, John McNulty.  “InterAct is proud to be a part of supporting their mission.”
