ASAP to PSAP: More CAD Providers Answer the Call
Two top tier computer-aided dispatch (CAD) providers, along with a few 9-1-1 PSAP practitioners, attended the four-hour Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) Technical Course for CAD providers held in concert with the APCO International 78th Annual Conference & Expo on Aug. 19. Spillman Technologies and Tiburon have joined the ranks of other top tier CAD providers that have stepped up to gain the knowledge necessary to develop a successful ASAP interface solution between their CAD customers and alarm monitoring companies. The intent of the course was to streamline ASAP interface development by CAD providers on behalf of the PSAPs that are anxious to take advantage of the ASAP program but have been waiting on their CAD provider to offer a solution.
It is now very important for Spillman and Tiburon to hear from their customers that have an interest in the ASAP project. PSAPs that use a Spillman or Tiburon CAD system should have the PSAP Manager contact their respective account manager to make their interest in the ASAP project known. Part of any good business plan is making sure that a demand for a product exists before beginning development.
In addition to the pre-conference course just held, APCO also offers technical assistance to CAD providers on site at the company’s location. The content is similar to the course that was offered at the APCO conference, but with a full day duration operating at a slower pace.
