Gregory Blane Cox, Linda Rodriguez & Ed Tobiasz in Memoriam

APCO Arkansas member Gregory Blane Cox, age 31, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away July 12, 2012, in Bella Vista. He was born Jan. 7, 1981, in Rome, Ga. He was a dispatcher for the Benton County Emergency Services and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl Cox of Bella Vista, 3 sons, Bradley Cox, Hayden Cox, Zachary Cox all of Bella Vista, his parents James and Tanja Bishop of Cartersville, Ga., his grandparents, “Bud” and Brenda Smart of Lindsey, Oklahoma and one brother, Aaron Bishop of Cartersville, Ga.

Linda Rodriguez, 62, passed away at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, on June 28, 2012. She was the secretary of APCO International’s Alaska Chapter, and Mark Cannon, deputy executive director of APCO International, says, “Everyone who met Linda could sense a special joie de vivre [joy of living] within her, which makes it especially sad that terminal illness took her so suddenly before many could express their loving support.”

Long-time APCO Commercial member Ed Tobiasz, 69, who served as the Northern California APCO webmaster, passed away unexpectedly in his home in Cupertino, Calif., on June 9. Born of Polish descent in Ware, Mass., Tobiasz is survived by a sister, Elizabeth.

Tobiasz served as a radio operator in the Navy on a P3 aircraft rank AX2 in Vietnam. Around 1986, he founded Spectrum Resources, which he operated as a sole proprietor. He enjoyed flying, and in 2011 got a solo pilot license.
