Steuben County 9-1-1 Goes Live on Tiburon’s DispatchNow Secure Cloud Solution for CAD

Company Representative June 29, 2012 Product & Service Announcements

The Steuben County 911 Department in New York has gone live on the secure cloud-based DispatchNow solution from Tiburon.  The computer aided dispatch system is being used in a 14-position dispatch center in Bath, New York and supports a multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional environment making it one of the largest secure cloud-based dispatch centers in the United States. The County now joins the growing number of state and local government entities leading the secure cloud computing revolution in government IT – a revolution that is producing real savings while also increasing security and reliability.

The County’s 911 Department is the only public safety answering point (PSAP) in the jurisdiction and provides law enforcement, fire department and EMS dispatching for the County’s 46 Fire Departments, 3 large police departments, 9 smaller community police departments, 22 in-county EMS departments and to the New York State Police serving the County along with supporting mutual aid needs for communities in neighboring Pennsylvania.

By selecting the cloud computing version of Tiburon’s DispatchNow software, the County was not required to purchase expensive computer servers nor expend precious IT resources on configuring and maintaining them.  The subscription pricing model for DispatchNow also means the County did not have to come up with a large capital budget for the initial license, installation and implementation costs – instead they pay a low annual subscription fee to use the software.

“Secure cloud computing solutions like this one are the wave of the future in computer aided dispatching – particularly for multi-agency environments like the one at Steuben County,” said Tiburon Marketing Director, Kirke Curtis. “The County now has a state-of-the-art system that was implemented in just a few months compared to the years more traditional implementations can take – saving both valuable time and money for the County.  We’re delighted to have partnered with the Director of Steuben County 911, Dave Hopkins, and with his team to bring Steuben County into the cloud computing revolution.”
