PulsePoint and Atrus Announce Strategic Partnership

Company Representative May 23, 2012 Industry
Partnership Creates a Unified Solution for Public Safety Organizations that Aligns High Quality AED Location Information with Broader Citizen Engagement Initiatives

PLEASANTON, CA – Today, National AED Registry™ provider Atrus, Inc. announced that it will collaborate with PulsePoint, the nonprofit foundation responsible for the life-saving PulsePoint CPR notification app, to enable integration between Registry users and PulsePoint-enabled agencies. The partnership allows data stored in the National AED Registry (www.nationalaedregistry.com), a free AED program management tool, to seamlessly flow into the PulsePoint app in real time. Atrus and PulsePoint are enterprise-class, software-as-a-service (SaaS) pre-arrival solutions designed to support public safety agencies working to improve cardiac arrest survival rates through improved bystander performance.

Customers of Atrus and PulsePoint will take advantage of this cloud-to-cloud integration at no added cost and without the need for custom development or the challenges of AED data migration and maintenance. Recognizing the need for quality data input and ease of community use, the jointly designed and developed interface brings information on all publicly accessible AEDs within a jurisdiction to PulsePoint. According to Elliot Fisch, President and CEO of Atrus, “This connection will enable agencies to much more effectively deliver the key components required for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival – AEDs and bystander CPR – by replacing fate and chance with accurate, timely, and actionable information.”

“A bystander locating and deploying an AED during a cardiac emergency is unfortunately a very rare occurrence,” said Richard Price, President of the PulsePoint Foundation. “Comprehensive, well-maintained AED databases are the exception today. This partnership brings together two innovative organizations committed to improving this situation by leveraging each others strengths.”
