WASHINGTON, March 14 — The Federal Communications Commission issued the following press release:

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski announced today that Amy Levine will be departing the Commission to relocate from the Washington, D.C. area and leaving her role as Senior Counsel & Legal Advisor to the Chairman. Charles Mathias will be detailed from his current role in the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau on an interim basis to serve as Acting Legal Advisor upon Ms. Levine’s departure.

FCC Chairman Genachowski said, “Amy brought to my office a rare combination of legislative expertise, policy know-how, and consensus-building. Among Amy’s accomplishments was her tireless dedication to working with Congress to see the historic incentive auctions legislation through its recent signing into law. It goes without saying that we’ll miss Amy deeply, and I am sure she will continue to deliver the same expert counsel and commitment that she brought to the Commission in the next stage of her career. I congratulate Amy and wish her the very best.”

He continued, “I am delighted that Charles has agreed to temporarily support our office upon Amy’s departure. I am confident that his expertise and experience will serve us well to help drive economic growth and opportunity behalf of all Americans.”
