TriTech and Medic Partner on Technology Initiatives to Improve Emergency Response

Company Representative November 3, 2011 Product & Service Announcements
Medic moves forward on TriTech’ s VisiNet Mobile and Disaster Recovery deployment to support its mission of delivering the highest quality pre-hospital care possible

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 31, 2011) – TriTech Software Systems and Medic, Mecklenburg County’s Emergency Medical Service Agency, proudly partner on important technology initiatives designed to improve emergency response.  TriTech will provide its VisiNet Mobile data solution in Medic vehicles and install a VisiCAD Disaster Recovery solution for an off-site emergency backup dispatch center.  By using TriTech’s solutions to improve field communications and ensure continuity of operations, these important technology initiatives reaffirm Medic’s mission to deliver the highest quality pre-hospital care possible.

“As the busiest 9-1-1 Emergency Medical Services Agency in the state of North Carolina, it is our responsibility to stay abreast of advances in technology that will enable us to be more responsive to our patients and their needs,” says Barry Bagwell, Deputy Director for Medic.  “Technology is the cornerstone of making our operations more efficient, and we’re confident that these technology projects will improve emergency response and enable us to continue our service in providing excellent care.”

As a long-time customer of TriTech’s VisiCAD computer-aided dispatch system, Medic will begin an initial deployment of TriTech’ s VisiNet Mobile data solution in manager and supervisor vehicles as well as special operations vehicles. As a seamless extension of CAD functionality to field personnel, VisiNet Mobile will provide Medic management with a global overview to view calls and manage resources remotely.

“Our computer-aided dispatch system contains a wealth of information that can serve as a tremendous resource to field personnel,” says Todd Sims, Operations Manager for Medic.  “With capabilities to view attachments, such as building layouts, and SOP documents for easy access to policies and procedures, VisiNet Mobile enables mission-critical information and full dispatch functionality to be available from the field.  This will greatly improve our operational efficiency by empowering our managers and supervisors with tools and information to manage operations from the field.”

Medic is also in the early planning stages of developing an emergency backup dispatch center co-located with the city of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC).  TriTech is providing its VisiNet Disaster Recovery solution to Medic to serve as a fully redundant off-site system.  In the event of a disaster causing Medic’s communications center to be evacuated, the VisiCAD Disaster Recovery solution and EOC is a vital asset for Medic to ensure operational readiness and continuity of emergency medical dispatch operations.

“We strongly value the relationships with our clients, and feel very honored to serve as Medic’s long-term technology partner,” says Chris Maloney, President and CEO of TriTech Software Systems.  “We’ve developed our solutions and refined our services to be able to grow with our client’s growing needs and adapt with dynamic changes in technology.  As Medic and other public safety clients move forward on technology initiatives to improve their operations, as their long-term technology partner, we will continue to make strides on research and development to support their continued success.”
