NYC Police Dispatch Says Derailed Subway Caused No Injuries

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say at least one car of a subway train has derailed in lower Manhattan but no one was injured.

The New York City police dispatch office says the derailment occurred around 4 a.m. EDT Monday on the northbound No. 6 subway line between the Brooklyn Bridge and Canal Street.

The office says up to 19 people were safely evacuated and no one was injured.

Police say at least one car derailed with some of its wheels off the tracks. There was no immediate word on the cause.
