Sumner County, TN Selects VisionAIR for Integrated Public Safety Solution

Company Representative July 12, 2011 Product & Service Announcements

Castle Hayne, NC—July 8, 2011—VisionAIR®, provider of the integrated Public Safety Suite® of software, announces its newest clients in Sumner County, Tennessee.  Agencies in Sumner County joined together to benefit from the purchase of the Public Safety Suite, including 8 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), 6 police departments, 16 fire departments, the Sheriff’s Office, the Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and the Emergency Communications District (ECD) that serves the estimated 160,000 residents of Sumner County.  Just north of Nashville, Sumner County runs along the northern boundary of the state with Kentucky encompassing 543 square miles of service area for these public safety agencies.

The integrated public safety system consists of products from VisionAIR’s Public Safety Suite, including Computer-Aided Dispatch (VisionCAD™), Records Management System (VisionRMS™), Mobile Data application (VisionMOBILE™) for both law enforcement and fire service, Inmate Management System (VisionJAIL™), Web-based Data Sharing (VisionINFORM™), and Learning Management System (VisionLMS™).  VisionAIR is also providing solutions for accessing legacy data, a disaster recovery off-site backup solution, and mapping from GeoComm.  Additionally, this comprehensive project includes networking equipment, VMware®, hardware, and an IP-based Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) system from 911-Inc.

Buddy Shaffer, Director for Sumner County ECD, said, “VisionAIR went above and beyond by integrating 911-Inc. and GeoComm, so that we could get a complete integrated, turnkey system.”

Tonya Jetton, Assistant Director for Sumner County ECD, said, “Glowing recommendations for VisionAIR provided a solid foundation in our selection process.”  Ms. Jetton continued, “Over one year’s time, the user committee saw 14 different company demonstrations.  VisionAIR’s constant professionalism, especially from the sales perspective, outshined the others.  We also focused on finding the most integrated system; the VisionAIR system will allow us to have a virtual consolidation even though we are in many different buildings.”

The Sumner County user committee has representation from each of the eight PSAPs in the county.  By switching to the Public Safety Suite, the County will have a high-tech, integrated system that will enhance interoperability and data sharing for public safety agencies within the county.  The project will be implemented over a nine to twelve month period.

Bob Koenig, VisionAIR’s Director of Sales, said, “We are very pleased to provide the agencies in Sumner County with the technology platform that will help prepare for Next Generation  9-1-1.  This has been an amazing group to work with, and they will feel right at home with the VisionAIR family.”

Sumner County joins an exceptionally strong VisionAIR user community in the state of Tennessee, including Sullivan County, Bradley County, Dickson County, City of Chattanooga, City of Murfreesboro, City of Memphis, and over 50 other Public Safety agencies in Tennessee.
