City of Tarpon Springs Police Goes “Live” with EnRoute’s Latest Generation Computer Aided Dispatch

Company Representative June 22, 2011 Product & Service Announcements

TAMPA & TARPON SPRINGS, Fla.–(EON: Enhanced Online News)–The City of Tarpon Springs Police Department is expected to go “live” this month with EnRoute Emergency Systems’ latest generation computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software.

The technology upgrade is expected to significantly advance the efficiency and capabilities of this law enforcement agency that operates in Florida’s Central Gulf Coast. EnRoute Dispatch is part of EnRoute’s suite of public safety software products. The software is designed to improve emergency call response times and disseminate critical information accurately and quickly to help agencies better protect their citizens and responders.

“Advancing to EnRoute Dispatch, powered by the .NET framework, provides compatibility with many widely accepted Microsoft® SQL server-based products and industry-standard technologies,” said George W. Landgrebe, vice president and general manager of EnRoute Emergency Systems.

“It provides an infrastructure that is compatible with technologies that are newer, faster, easier to use and more cost-effective to deploy and own,” said Landgrebe. Additionally, the data that EnRoute Dispatch collects is more valuable and versatile, because it is available for use with mobile devices and in other applications.

Tarpon Springs police officials see a range of advantages to the upgrade, including better data sharing with other government agencies, field-based reporting and improved workflow. It is intuitive and easy to use, which accelerates emergency response and improves public safety.

“We are talking about technology that makes our job more efficient and effective,” said Tarpon Springs Police Chief Robert Kochen of EnRoute’s CAD software. “We are a full-service police department, and we need to implement a system like this that helps all divisions.”

As the provider of public safety applications for the City of Tarpon Springs police department since 1992, EnRoute is a welcomed partner for the upgrade, said Chief Kochen. “We have an excellent relationship with EnRoute, and their new system will be a great benefit to the department and our community.”

EnRoute Dispatch features highly configurable mapping with real-time data and agency-specific information, as well as dashboards that provide an up-to-the-minute view of dispatch operation and performance.

The software includes a system for bar code tracking and inventory of property and evidence obtained in crime and other incident investigations, facilitating an important part of the law enforcement operation.

EnRoute is exhibiting its advanced CAD and Records Management Systems (RMS) for law enforcement, fire/EMS departments, and ambulance service providers at the June 18-23 NENA Conference in Minneapolis. The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) conference educates public safety professionals across the country about industry innovations transforming the 9-1-1 system.
