Declarations of APCO Officer Candidacy Due Jan. 15

Public Safety Communications January 5, 2011 APCO

Eligible APCO International members other than current Officers on the Board of Directors who desire to declare their candidacy for First Vice-President or Second Vice-President need to submit the required forms — Declaration of Candidacy and Employer’s Concurrence of Candidacy — to the APCO executive director no later than Jan. 15 — which, bear in mind, happens to fall on a Saturday in 2011.

To review the qualifications for office and candidacy procedures, please consult the association’s Bylaws (especially 8.7) and Policy Manual (especially 6.4).  After filing for candidacy, please note that candidates may not officially commence campaigning until certified as eligible by the APCO Credentials Committee.

The Bylaws and Policy Manual can be downloaded from the Governing Documents tab of the governance web page (www.apcointl.org/governance).
