RealView Continues To Expand Nationwide Presence With Life-Saving CommandScope Solution

Company Representative November 3, 2010 Product & Service Announcements
CommandScope delivers critical and immediate information to fire departments nationwide

Chicago, Ill. — RealView LLC, a Microsoft Partner providing mobile inspection and emergency pre-plan programs for fire departments, commercial buildings, hospitality, healthcare, education and more announced today implementation of its CommandScope Emergency Pre-Plan for seven additional U.S. fire departments. Part of a rapid expansion across the country, the new CommandScope launch locations include the Glencoe Department Of Public Safety of Glencoe, Ill.; Vail Fire And Emergency of Vail, Colo.; Albemarle Fire Department of Albemarle, N.C.; Mammoth Lakes Fire Protection District of Mammoth Lakes, Calif.; The City Of Vandalia Division Of Fire of Vandalia, Ohio; Laconia Fire Department of Laconia, N.H.; and the North Richland Hills Fire Department of North Richland Hills, Texas.

According to the National Fire Protection Association’s “Fire Loss In The United States During 2009” report, fires resulted in more than 3,000 fatalities in the U.S. in 2009, with fire departments responding to more than 1.3 million fires. Designed to combat these incidents with advance strategy and actionable information, CommandScope from RealView provides first responders with an electronic pre-plan vital for a more effective emergency response. With detailed building construction and fire protection information including site plans, floor plans, building hazards, geographical maps, photos and more, first responders supported by CommandScope head to the scene of emergencies empowered to respond with knowledge rather than by trial and error, saving time and saving lives.

“An awareness of what we’re walking into is the most valuable asset a fire department or any first responder can have,” says James Langdon, Captain of the North Charleston, S.C. Fire Department. “The advanced capability and detailed information we receive from RealView’s CommandScope is more than we imagined possible, and it will significantly improve the safety of both the public and our firefighters.”

Greg Raile, IT Engineer for the Town of Vail, Colo., adds, “This type of information used to be gathered and maintained on paper and amounted to a fraction of the intelligence we gain with CommandScope. Now we can use our laptops and MDCs to update, maintain and receive vital property information in real time, and the difference in preparedness when our responders arrive at the scene could result in saving lives.”

“We ask a lot from our first responders, and they routinely answer by putting themselves at risk to keep us safe,” says Stephen Nardi, President of RealView. “We designed CommandScope with the mindset that this is an advantage first responders need and deserve. We’re glad it is becoming a successful part of operations at departments and agencies across the country and are excited to see this technology become a fundamental tool available to each and every first responder.”
