EnRoute Releases Next Generation CAD Software

Company Representative August 5, 2010 Product & Service Announcements
EnRoute also integrates TrafficLand’s live traffic video cameras with CAD

EnRoute Emergency Systems LLC, an Infor company, announced on Aug. 2 the release of its next generation computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software. The release is an important step to bringing public safety agencies the latest in Microsoft technology to facilitate deployment of their mission critical applications.

“This combination of power and simplicity is the direction our industry is headed.”

The software, part of EnRoute Dispatch solutions, streamlines integration with standard software packages and infrastructure and provides EnRoute customers with a migration path enabling them to adopt technologies that are newer, faster, easier to use, as well as more cost effective to deploy and own.

EnRoute’s product release follows news from Infor, EnRoute’s parent company, that Infor selected Microsoft as preferred technology and tools provider for Infor Software Solutions.

Next-generation Infor software solutions that use Microsoft tools and technologies will be designed to more tightly integrate widely adopted Microsoft server-based products and industry-standard technologies, enabling IT to deploy Infor solutions faster and manage them more easily.

Infor expects to accelerate the introduction of new products through increasing alignment with Microsoft technologies because it will allow greater code re-use, more standardization of technologies across applicable Infor applications, and decreased overall design complexity.

“In Infor we see a leading partner that is using the Microsoft platform to provide simplicity and flexibility for great customer value,” said Walid Abu-Hadba, corporate vice president, Developer and Platform Evangelism, Microsoft Corporation.

“Companies want simplified, integrated solutions to help manage their business processes, and by integrating Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, Silverlight and SharePoint 2010 into their solutions, Infor will help companies of all sizes-from SMBs to Fortune 500 companies-improve their efficiencies and reduce costs by simplifying how they use business software,” said Abu-Hadba.

“The business software industry is at a crossroads,” said Jim Schaper, chairman and chief executive officer of Infor. “For too long, business software vendors have failed to meet the needs of mid-size companies that are increasingly frustrated with the high cost and complexity of traditional enterprise applications that were designed for multi-billion dollar corporations.”

“By integrating the rich functionality of Infor’s applications with Microsoft’s intuitive technologies, we will be able to provide mid-size businesses with fast and affordable solutions that meet their functionality needs and are easy to use,” Schaper said. “This combination of power and simplicity is the direction our industry is headed.”

EnRoute Emergency Systems LLC announced it has formed a strategic partnership with TrafficLand. The partnership makes EnRoute the first public safety software provider to embed TrafficLand’s live traffic streaming video into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software.

“Aligning with TrafficLand is a natural extension of EnRoute’s commitment to provide ‘best in class’ solutions that complement our strategy for meeting the rapidly evolving needs of public safety.”

EnRoute, an Infor Company, now provides customers − law enforcement, fire/EMS departments, ambulance services, toll highway agencies – access, via the TrafficLand network, to live video feeds. The live video feeds enable a real-time view of traffic and road conditions within the customer’s jurisdiction from more than 8,000 transportation department traffic cameras deployed nationwide. This new feature is available through a direct interface with EnRoute’s CAD software.

Access to TrafficLand’s traffic video cameras that operate on major roadways around the country via EnRoute’s CAD gives emergency dispatchers a porthole into road conditions in real time.

The partnership brings EnRoute users instant and situational awareness of roadway incidents, vastly improving field evaluation and response. The TrafficLand technology produces single or multi-camera displays and is able to incorporate multiple jurisdictional camera systems.

“Aligning with TrafficLand is a natural extension of EnRoute’s commitment to provide ‘best in class’ solutions that complement our strategy for meeting the rapidly evolving needs of public safety,” said George Landgrebe, vice president and general manager of EnRoute Emergency Systems.

“Our responsibility is to supply our customers with the technology to receive the most accurate data in the fastest way possible,” he said. “An instant view of major roadways in their jurisdictions is a smart tool that helps them better manage their response to emergency situations.”

Lawrence Nelson, Founder and CEO of TrafficLand, Inc. said the partnership with EnRoute is an example of EnRoute’s forward-thinking approach to customer service. “By merging TrafficLand’s live streaming video with EnRoute’s CAD application, the delivery of live traffic conditions into dispatch centers is highly reliable and completely seamless.”

Based in Tampa, FL, EnRoute Emergency Systems, an Infor company, is a leading supplier of public safety applications that meet the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management systems (RMS) requirements of law enforcement and toll highway agencies, fire/EMS departments, and ambulance service providers. Infor provides more than 70,000 customers a better, more collaborative relationship with their business software provider. Infor software is simple to buy, easy to deploy and convenient to manage. TrafficLand is the largest authorized single-source of on demand traffic video information in the country, providing access to live video from over 8,000 traffic cameras in over 200 cities today. Through its agreements with state and local transportation departments, and other sources the company aggregates and broadcasts live traffic video via the Internet, and through its media partners. Emergency response and incident management, first responders and federal emergency management agencies can access TrafficLands enhanced traffic video application through a single, secure interface.
