Datron World Communications Inc., a leader in aerial and ground communication products and systems, has selected the Farnborough Air Show to introduce the Datron Scout Micro Air Vehicle Aerial Reconnaissance System.

The Datron Scout is a small, rugged and lightweight Micro Air Vehicle designed to capture and transmit high quality video and images in the field. A robust design coupled with snap together assembly makes the Scout a perfect fit for missions in a broad range of environments where measuring time in seconds will matter.

Datron is offering the Scout to its global customer base in the military, government, security and public safety sectors to enhance their ability to provide protection and sovereignty for their citizens.

“Datron is committed to providing our worldwide customer base with communications solutions that meet their needs today and in the future,” states Art Barter, president and CEO of Datron. “The Datron Scout addresses the escalating need to add visual capability in the field that both enhances the safety of the team and increases rapid resolution of the mission objective.”

The Datron Scout is in keeping with Datron’s commitment to provide its worldwide customer base with products that are easy to use and maintain. The Scout is driven by a highly intuitive, touch screen tablet PC application. Built-in safety features ensure that the system is ready for deployment before takeoff — thus allowing the user to simply point and direct the Scout to any point of interest.

The system is comprised of the aerial vehicle, base station, tablet PC, six batteries and a daylight 5 mega-pixel camera. Additionally, the system includes spare batteries, a three-bay battery charger, spare rotors and spare legs.
