SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Shelby County commission voted 10-1 Monday in favor of a new 911 operations center near Shelby Farms, but the sponsor of the measure, Steve Mulroy, says commissioners will have to vote again before work on the building starts.

Franklin County Delays New 9-1-1 Center by at Least a Year

FARMINGTON, Maine — A plan to build a new emergency 911 dispatch center for Franklin County will not be ready to go before voters until next year at the earliest, instead of this fall as some county officials had previously hoped. Commissioners decided last week to have a building committee review the project before presenting it to voters. The committee will consist of county officials and at least one community member.

Anderson, Tenn., Dispatchers Still Enjoy Office Upgrade

Clinton, Tenn — Eleven years ago, emergency dispatchers for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department worked in a room the size of a walk-in closet on the courthouse’s third floor. “That room was barely big enough for one person,” recalls Mark Lucas, chairman of the county’s Emergency Communications District board of directors.
