TIA Issues Call to Stakeholders on Project for FDMA – Common Air Interface and Project for Common Air Interface Reserved Values
Arlington, Virginia – April 18, 2017 – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.15 Engineering Committee on Common Air Interface has issued a special call for interest to producer, user, and general interest groups to contribute to the development of industry standards.
TIA-102.BAAA-B FDMA – Common Air Interface ensures that subscriber unit equipment interoperates at the Physical Layer and Data Link Layer with subscriber unit equipment from different manufacturers, and with radio systems for different agencies. This allows effective and reliable intra-agency and inter-agency communications in an all-digital mode for voice and data.
TIA-102.BAAC-D Common Air Interface Reserved Values is a supplement to the TIA-102.BAAA Common Air Interface (CAI) standard and describes the CAI Reserved Values that may be utilized by communications equipment conforming to TIA-102 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) standards.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: APCO Project 25, Private Land Mobile Radio users and manufacturers.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from general interest communities.
A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee.
