Meet Your AFC Advisors: Angela Allen (Vermont)
AFC, APCO’s frequency coordination department, is pleased to introduce its network of dedicated local advisor volunteers. APCO’s advisors are responsible for frequency coordination in their home state and we would like to bring awareness and recognition to the dedication they exhibit on a daily basis. Please feel free to reach out to our local advisors with any questions dealing with FCC Part 90 licensing and frequency coordination.
Since 1989, Angela Allen has worked for the State of Vermont Department of Public Safety in the radio shop as a Communications Technician. The DPS radio shop maintains radios used by all State of Vermont agencies and departments. This includes mobiles, portables, base stations, dispatch consoles, and a statewide microwave radio system, just to name a few. Angela has been an APCO local advisor for the state of Vermont since December 2001. She has processed many applications over the years, not only the State of Vermont, but also local law enforcement, fire departments and ambulance services. Angela is a graduate of Vermont Technical College and holds an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. Working for the DPS radio Shop has made excellent use of her degree. When she is not working Angie spends her time watching her two boys, Garrett and Nolan, play hockey, soccer, baseball and golf depending on the season (hockey is the favorite sport for all three of them), or at a local short track with her husband Shawn. If she actually gets some free time, she can be found in the baking in the kitchen or indulging in her favorite hobby of scrapbooking.
