Meet Your AFC Advisors: Buddy Jordan (South Carolina)
AFC, APCO’s frequency coordination department, is pleased to introduce its network of dedicated local advisor volunteers. APCO’s advisors are responsible for frequency coordination in their home state and we would like to bring awareness and recognition to the dedication they exhibit on a daily basis. Please feel free to reach out to our local advisors with any questions dealing with FCC Part 90 licensing and frequency coordination.
Buddy Jordan is an Air Force veteran and has been a communications consultant with the State of South Carolina since 1986 and an APCO advisor since 1993. When not doing frequency advisory work he maintains a cache of portable and mobile communications equipment for use during disasters and special events.
In 2005, he and a co-worker deployed out of state twice to hurricane’s Katrina and Wilma with portable towers and handheld radios to Gulfport, MS and Homestead, Fl. respectively. Buddy was awarded Advisor of the year in 1996 and Outstanding Advisor in 2003.
He is a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College, an Extra-Class amateur radio operator and has been involved in two-way communications since 1968.
Buddy likes to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.
