APCO Salutes FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel for Her Service
Alexandria, VA – Today, the Association of Public-Safety Officials (APCO) International, the world’s largest association of public safety communications professionals, expressed its gratitude to Jessica Rosenworcel for her excellent record of service as an FCC Commissioner. Commissioner Rosenworcel will complete her term at the end of this year.
“Commissioner Rosenworcel has been an outstanding champion for public safety,” APCO Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Derek Poarch said. “Throughout her tenure as an FCC Commissioner, Ms. Rosenworcel has shown exceptional dedication to advancing causes important to the nation’s 9-1-1 and emergency communications systems. She has made a point to personally visit dozens of 9-1-1 centers (public safety answering points or PSAPs) – large and small – and campaigned for game-changing improvements to wireless 9-1-1 location accuracy, optimizing grant programs to create models for Next Generation 9-1-1 networks across the country, and ending raids on 9-1-1 funds, the detrimental practice of some states to divert fees collected for 9-1-1 to other purposes. APCO highly values and appreciates Commissioner Rosenworcel’s public service. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors.”
