Blount E9-1-1 (Tenn.) Recognizes Exceptional Employees

Blount County emergency dispatcher David Nelson didn’t miss a day of work last year and is always eager to help the agencies he serves at the E-911 Center.
That dedication earned him the honor of Telecommunicator of the Year at the Blount County E-911 Center.
Blount County E-911 Director Jeff Caylor presented Nelson with the 2013 award earlier this month during National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.
Nelson joined the E-911 Center in 2004. He is a member of the Telecommunications Emergency Response Team and was the only employee to record a year of perfect attendance.
“He is always eager to do his job and he demonstrates true professionalism every day both with the public and those agencies he serves,” states a news release from the E-911 Center.
The Blount County E-911 Center also recognized Tracy Smock for 20 years of service; Mark Ownsby and Ja’Nett Brabson for 15 years of service; and Crystal Morse for five years of service.
Center officials awarded commendations to Ownsby, Charles Lewis, Heather Murphy, Dallas Hoard and Wayne Baldwin.
Officials presented Quality Assurance Awards to Ownsby for law enforcement and Murphy for emergency medical services.
